A former dancer, Izabella Miko has turned her attention to acting and has appeared in such films as Coyote Ugly (2000), The Forsaken (2001) and Minimal Knowledge (2002). She has also turned heads as Carrie in HBO’s critically acclaimed series Deadwood.

Izabella Miko Biography

  Izabella Anna Mikolajczak never intended to end up in Hollywood. The daughter of well-established actors, 

this Polish beauty grew up in Warsaw, where she attended the city’s prestigious National Ballet School. Easily one of the academy’s most talented pupils, 

Izabella was eventually recruited at the age of 15 to attend the world renowned School of American Ballet in New York City. 

Sadly, her petite body couldn’t keep up with the stress of the demanding training regimen and within two years her dream of becoming a world-class ballerina officially ended.
Down, but certainly not out, Izabella returned to Warsaw and tried her hand at the family trade. 

Not surprisingly, she turned out to be a natural in front of the camera and a year later she was back in New York City to begin her professional training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.
Equipped with beauty, grace and the proper education, 

Izabella made her big-screen debut with Tyra Banks in Coyote Ugly, a raucous Jerry Bruckheimer film about a female-run bar in New York City. 

She has since appeared in a number of films including The Forsaken, Minimal Knowledge and Bye Bye Blackbird (2005).
Izabella’s budding career was busier than ever in 2006, as she merged her passion for dance with acting in Save the Last Dance 2, 

a sequel to the popular hip-hop drama starring Julia Stiles. 

She was also cast for parts in Flakes with Zooey Deschanel, Crashing, Dark Streets, 

and The Spiderwick Chronicles.
