Is this post steroids baseball?

ANOTHER no hitter.
And Jim Joyce couldn't F--- this one up.

Edwin Jackson came back to Tropicana Field and no hit his former team. And yes I know he walked 8 and hit a batter... but give the guy a break! He threw a no hitter.

Let's see you throw one.

Either way, a year FULL of pitching highlights just got another one.

I like this post steroids baseball. I'll take pitching dominance over 13-11 monstrocities.

Maybe the Angels should trade Dan Haren

Yesterday's win against the Rangers not withstanding, the Angels are in trouble.

If EVERYTHING goes right today and they get a win against the Rangers, they will be just 2 games over .500 and 7 games back.

Their bullpen stinks, their lineup is inconsistent and the chances of their winning a 4th straight Division title, 5th in 6 years and make the playoffs for the 7th time in 9 years seems to be slipping away.

It has slipped so much so that the L.A. Times actually started kicking around the idea of the Angels dealing away veterans like Hideki Matsui and Bobby Abreu.

And they had the humiliation of having Derek Lee turn down a trade to Anaheim. (Why should he leave one underachieving team for another?)

Well if they are going to make a deal, why not trade Danny Haren?
Seriously, if they are waving the white flag, why not send off one of the prized chips in the trading deadline season?

All the teams that lost out on Cliff Lee or Roy Oswalt (or Dan Haren for that matter) could see Haren as a shot to win in October.

And if the Angels could trade him for a better bounty than Joe Saunders, Pat Corbin, Rafael Rodriguez and Tyler Skaggs, then they win out!

They didn't give up a legit prospects for Haren, so if they get a can't miss player and some other potential players, then guess what? They finish on the plus column.

And we will have the memories of Dan Haren's lone game as an Angel.

I guess it would be similar to Rasheed Wallace spending one day with the Hawks in 2004. Atlanta fans will always have those memories.

Not a fan of the white hats... but it worked on some teams

Once again baseball busted out the white hats for patriotic reasons and as I said before, the players looked like the Good Humor Man.

Teams like the Yankees should NOT have white hats. They have an amazing uniform that shouldn't be messed with.

But I confess, as bad as most teams looked with the white hats, a few teams actually pulled it off and maybe it would be a good look in the future.

I thought it worked well with the Diamondbacks.

The white hat with the Red Jersey looked kind of cool. Plus the team is trying to build a new identity, especially with Kirk Gibson in charge. Why not have a new look?

I think it would work better with their A instead of the snake D on the cap.

But it works for the snakes.

It looked surprisingly good with the Tigers as well.

I didn't think I'd like it with a traditional uniform like Detroit's (along with the Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, Red Sox and Giants are the best of the traditional unis).

But the white hat did invoke some nostalgia.

It looked like the hat they would have worn in the Charlie Gehringer years.

Go with it as an alternative cap, Detroit.

Speaking of traditional teams, I think it went surprisingly well with the Indians.

It harkened back to the 1920 World Champion Indians and Stan Covelski would look good wearing it.

Granted I am being a hypocrite.

I have told the Indians to pick a cap and then suggested two more versions for them... but hey it is my blog.

So keep wearing those Good Humor Man hats, D'Backs, Tigers and Tribe.

I know I trashed them before, but to quote Rodney in Caddyshack, "It looks good on YOU though."

Hey Diamondbacks... good luck getting sympathy for your pulled hamstring

Can you imagine a Diamondback player coming up to their new manager, Kirk Gibson, and complaining about a physical problem?

"Skip, I think I have some tightness in my quad. I may need to sit out tonight."

"Oh you've got some tightness? That's too bad. I bet it hurts. Do you know what also hurts? Having a busted right knee. Do you know what is worse than that? Also having a busted LEFT kneee. But I guess sometimes you have to SUCK IT UP and drag yourself to the plate when you CAN'T EVEN WALK and face a HALL OF FAME PITCHER in his prime with 2 outs in the World Series and hit a Game Winning homer ONE HANDED WITH NO USE OF MY LEGS! But really, I hope your quads feel better."

"I'll get some Ben Gay."

"Hold on, let me find that clip. It's kind of obscure... if by obscure you mean the most famous home run possibly in baseball history."

"No, you showed it already."

"Seriously. I insist you watch it again. I think my quads also hurt that night. I couldn't tell because I had no use of my legs."

"Can I call A. J. Hinch please?"

Alright Red Sox... you listen to me and you listen good

You have an early 5-1 lead on the Diamondbacks... a team that is going nowhere and is already dumping its players.

I expect SMOOTH SAILING for the rest of this game.
I am at work and soon I will be trying to watch the Celtics possibly win title #18 IN Los Angeles. I will drive by the Staples Center on the way back home and I just want to concentrate on basketball tonight.

I want to teeth grinding. I want no dodged bullets.
I want AN EASY WIN!

Deliver that.
Shouldn't be that hard.

And GO CELTICS
