Looky-loos will get a thrill out of "Steven Ehrlich Houses" (The Monacelli Press, $50) by Steven Ehrlich.

Drawings, photographs and text share a selection of houses in Southern California and the Southwest designed by Ehrlich, providing insight on each project from beginning to end.

Ehrlich is the principal of Ehrlich Architects in Los Angeles. His focus is modernism with sustainable and environmental designs.

Avery Aames continues her Cheese Shop mystery series with "Lost and Fondue" (Berkley, $8).

Everything is going well in Providence for Cheese Shop owner and detective Charlotte until her friend throws a bash at an abandoned winery and the affair ends with the discovery of a dead art student.

Aames is the pseudonym for Daryl

Masiela Lusha
